Day Nine: Europe or Bust

So... we basically just hiked around in the Lake District today. Amazing for us, but probably pretty boring for y'all. So I have inserted some lovely pictures from our adventures!

Hiking across the Catbells.

Mom and I have long dreamed of having tea and scones in the Lake District and today at the Skye Farm Tea Room we got to fulfill that wish! In England they have a specialty called "Cream Tea", which is tea (or coffee) served with scones, jam and clotted cream. Because of restrictions in dairy processing in the United States, Europe is the only place where we can have real clotted cream, so we made the most of the experience. You may have noticed that I included pictures of cows and sheep in my collage of pictures. You also may have noticed that the place where we had Cream Tea was called Skye Farm Tea Room. Emphasis on farm. It's true, we spent the better part of the afternoon at a working farm which doubles as a cafe and tea room. Not only did they serve tea and pastries, but also the best ice cream we'd ever tasted, made with milk from their very own cows!

After tea, we walked around Lake Buttermere. It was so lovely I wished that we could have kept walking on and on, but unfortunatly we had to get back to our flat to pack up. We hit the road again tomorrow!

I love you all!
